      3. Brandon, Yellowhead and Westman together in forming male and female hockey teams for Manitoba Games

6. New Business  
              -Discussion regarding transfers and overage applications within our region
-Mike Robertson discussed the operation of Directors cup and Manitoba Games teams.
-Reston Midgets problem of late entry was passed in favor of them taking part in provincial with registration to be done within one week.
- Shilo will be looking into their region fee payment.

WESTMAN REGIONAL MEET ING

MONDAY Sept. 14 , 2009

1.     Introductions –All towns in attendance . Pierson taking 1 year leaveof absence from the region

Others in attendance: Bill Whitehead, Bill Lawson

2.     Financial Report- Motion Jim Coughlan / Carberry that the financial statement be accepted as given (carried)

3.     Fee Structure- Motion Jim Coughlan/Killarney that the fee structure remain at $75.00 for Initiation and Novice and to $85.00 for all ages above those for the 2009-20010 season (carried)

4.     Reports:

a.     Registrar Report- (Bill Lawson)

-Fill out the contact sheet for Hockey Manitoba and Westman Region

-       Hockey Manitoba offering registration of players on the internet. Must go to the seminar in Brandon if you did not attend last year.

-       Rosters must be signed by parents

-       Coach certification by Dec. 1 Don’t put on roster if this is not done

-       Mandatory helmets for all on ice including coaches

-       Rural Minor Female can roster both female and male

-       Categories for female playoffs done by Hockey Manitoba

-       Overage application must be done on time

-       Extended season is by associations

-       Hockey Manuals given out at our meeting

-       Welcome to play Hockey available for players Send name and address immediately on email

-31 showed up for try outs of Midget AA

-1 goalie available at this time

c.     Referee Coordinator Report(Kelly Lee)

-Report is in the folder

-       27 referees registered so far

d.     Coach Development Report-( Guy Williams)

-       Initiation clinic never had enough registered in the last 2 years

-       Coach level clinic 20 people have attend for each of the last 2 years

e.     Cougars Triple A Midget Report(Grant Moffatt)

-       Website shows all the information

-       50 kids showed up for try out 31 still there

-       7 returning players only so it will be a very young team

f.      Vice Directors Report( Jim Coughlan)

    -Comments have been made during the meeting

-       Discussion took place regarding the Female Midget AA

-       Bingo is open to any town who wishes to take part.

                        h. Chair-Rural Minor West-( Bill Whitehead)

-Ken Gladden was not available for the meeting

-Canad Inn is a sponsor again and all members of Hockey        Manitoba can receive a room for $99.00

5.     New Business  

a. Motion: Souris/Virden that it be approved for Deloraine Atoms request to moved up from D to C category ( carried)

b.    Hosts approved for provincials

c.     Motion: Killarney/Carberry   that we accept the $315 web site proposition from Bosisevain Recorder( carried)

6.     Other Topics

-       Committee needed for Development Squads from within the region

-       Motion: Melita/Deloraine that we form a second Midget Female AA team ( defeated)
